Jaco is the closest beach town to the capital city, San Jose, and the main airport in Costa Rica. Located in the province of Puntarenas, it is a beautiful beach with dense jungle & mountains surrounding it. The area is known worldwide for it’s great surfing and has been called the “Surf Capital of Costa Rica”. It is considered an excellent region for fishing, located close to the Los Sueños Marina which brings in boats from all over the world, creating much tourism for sport fishing. There has also been a large effort in recent years to bring back the population of the beautiful native Scarlet Macaws in the province. What people love about Costa Rica is being surrounded by its beautiful flora & fauna. It’s hard not to feel connected to Mother Earth when you are constantly encompassed in nature.
